LEXINGTON – During a nationally-televised debate, Sen. Rand Paul would not commit to serve a full six-year term if re-elected. Instead, he made senseless claims that Mayor Gray has not done his job for the people of Lexington.
“Mayor Gray actually completed a full term, successfully serving Lexington, before he sought to provide that leadership for all Kentuckians.,” said Gray spokeswoman Cathy Lindsey. “Under Jim’s management, Lexington’s local economy is strong and growing. Today, national publications rank Lexington as one of the best places to live, one of the best cities to start a business, one of the safest cities in America and a great place to retire. Lexington has also been ranked one of the top ten best run cities in America. That didn’t happen without focused leadership. That’s the kind of leadership Jim will show in Washington for the people of Kentucky.
“Sen. Paul squandered his first term as Senator on his own failed, blind personal ambition. He has no record of success on which to base a run for higher office.”
